Interested in going Greek? Summer informal recruitment is the main form of recruitment for most Greek fraternities. Chapters will be conducting recruitment events over the summer, such as barbecues, sport events, etc. If you are interested in going Greek, or perhaps just want to learn more information, you may sign up here.
We encourage you to browse through the website to learn more about the Greek community and each of our organizations. You can find chapter bios, links to fraternity websites, and contact information for each fraternity. If you have any questions you can contact the Interfraternity Council Director of Recruitment, Thomas Hammett, at IFCRecruitment@wsu.edu
The Washington State University Interfraternity Council is proud to announce the start of their American Gentleman Campaign for the Greek Community. This campaign’s goal is to challenge, highlight, and promote what it means to be a gentleman as a college student and Fraternity man. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) will be utilizing social media to tweet/post multiple individual challenges each week that, if executed, will embody the essence a true American Gentleman. Some examples are: holding the door for 5 people, compliment a woman on something other than looks, or stand when a woman enters the room. In addition, we will be posting 1 challenge a week for an entire Chapter, which will present an opportunity or event that the entire membership can promote their brotherhood and gentlemen development. Such examples of events are: etiquette dinners, ball room dancing lessons, or faculty appreciation dinners. Finally, the IFC will be adding the ‘Gentlemen’ element to our constituent meetings, in which we will provide valuable information and training for our chapter’s officers while practicing proper business etiquette.
We have created this campaign from the blog, The American Gentleman. The author is an anonymous Fraternity man who has identified the shortage gentlemen in today’s society, and has set out to determine what it means to be gentleman. He has done so through the creation of a list of lessons, in which he believes every gentleman should be adhere to. In addition, he consistently answers questions that readers post on his page to give advice as to what “The American Gentleman” would do in a given situation. With his guidance, lessons, and experience, the IFC will create a curriculum to challenge our men to become better men, in an attempt to answer the question: What makes a Washington State University Gentleman?
