What are the requirements to join Gamma Alpha Omega?

The academic requirement to join Gamma Alpha Omega includes the following:

A 2.5 G.P.A. or higher on a 4.0 G.P.A scale
Must be at least a 2nd semester freshman (this means you must have completed at least one semester of full time credits prior to the semester you are interested in joining).
Must not have pledged any other organization prior to joining GAO.
Transfer students are eligible to pledge their first semester here at WSU.

 

Do you have to be Hispanic/Latina/Chicana to join this sorority?

Interests do not have to be Hispanic/Latina/Chicana to join. Our organization provides support and encouragement to all women in higher education.  

 

How much will it cost?

Money should not be the deciding factor in joining the organization. However, there are dues, these can be payed through fundraising and payments.

 

Will pledging keep me from being involved in other clubs, activities, work, school, etc.?

Joining Gamma Alpha Omega will not interfere with your daily activities, however you will have to learn how to organize and prioritize. 

 

What is your National Philanthropy?

Our current national philanthropy is Education (Mentoring Youth).  We work with The Girls Beyond Bars Program, Big Sisters/Little Sisters and the S.M.A.R.T. Girls Mentorship Program.
